Building a birdhouse is a great way...

The summer months are a time for people to venture out into the garden.  The garden is a great place to witness the miracle of nature.  The plantation and trees within the garden flourishes during the summer months and trees which have been sparse during the winter, soon become a sea of green.  Flowers and plants start to sprout, and bulbs which have been safely hidden under the ground during the winter, begin to sprout through the surface.  The summer months are also the best months for enjoying a crop of fine vegetables, vegetables which are planted in the spring usually make an appearance through the summer, and towards the end of the summer many people who grow their own vegetables, become virtually self sufficient.

The other beauty about summer is that many different birds tend to appear in the garden, birds like the jackdaw and the jay, sparrows.  In some parts of the world the green woodpecker is a very common find, this woodpecker is the largest of its kind.  It is much larger than the blackbird and its back and wings are covered in green, the rest of its body is a yellowy colour, it has a red head and a white covering to its bottom half, it looks very much like it is wearing a pair of pants.

The Brambling is a bird which can be seen throughout the winter months and right through into the summer.  The blackcap or the Sylvia atricapilla is a widespread and common visitor throughout the summer months, small numbers of these birds are found in the winter.  They are usually found in gardens, woodlands and parks.  The birds them self are grey in colour with the male bird having a distinctive black cap and the female having a chestnut coloured cap.

The Dotterel is a bird which is mainly found in the mountains of Scotland, usually in the Grampian and Cairngorms, this bird is scarcely seen in the summer months.  The bird itself is very distinctive in colour with brown breast with a white breast band running through, the females species of this bird is brighter in colour than the male.

The house martin is a common sight in the summer months through England.  There nesting areas can be found on building or even under eaves of buildings, they are a common sight in villages and towns and they hunt for food and insects over open country.

Many people enjoy bird watching from the comfort of their own home, whilst others go far and wide to spot exotic birds.  Summer is a great time for everyone and many people enjoy birds, nature and wildlife during this time.  It is also the time that barbecue season starts and people indulge in gas barbecues (gasgrill) for family and friends.  There is much in the way of choice in DIY shops, and most stock stainless steel gas BBQ (gasgrill edelstahl) along with the more traditional kinds which require coals and lighter fuel.
